Israeli-Palestinian conflict

First of all, what are the reasons for conflict in 2021?

Under international law, a part of the Palestinian territory, effectively annexed by Israel, is being held under belligerent occupation. The actual violent act started on May 6, when the Supreme Court of Israel decided to evict six Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah and the Palestinian people started to riot. And this way, on May 7, the police of Israel used tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades on the al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, and the conflict went on.

Did Israel and Palestine have any conflicts in the past?

The history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began in 1948 with the establishment of the state of Israel. The intercommunal violence in Mandatory Palestine between Israelis and Arabs from 1920 erupted the civil war (1947-1948) into fully scale antagonism.

What is the current state of the conflict?

Friday morning (May 21), the southern Israel sirens were silent. The sound of bombs was replaced with celebratory gunfire as a fragile cease-fire between Israel and Hamas went into force, bringing an end to more than 10 days of fighting. The truce was mediated by Egypt and it began at 2 a.m., though tensions remained high because past cease-fire between Israel and Hamas have proven fragile. People started to gather in the streets of Gaza and Israel that morning, and as the mourning dawned there were no reported violations of truce. The both sides began then to take stock of the deadliest Israeli-Palestinian fighting in 7 years.
